Status codes explained

USPTO status codes (such as 641 for published, 700 for registered, or 626 for abandoned) appear on every serial page. CopyMark links each code to its plain-English guide. See the full status code catalog at /guidance/trademark-status-codes.

Why deadlines matter

Trademark prosecution has strict deadlines. Office Action responses, Statements of Use after a Notice of Allowance, and Section 8/9 maintenance filings must be timely. The serial page highlights applicable deadlines when they appear in the indexed record.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the live serial page. Navigate to https://getcopymark.com/trademark/{serialNumber} with your 8-digit serial number.
  2. Read the status badge. The current USPTO status code and label appear near the mark name. Click the status link for a plain-English explanation of that code.
  3. Review What this means. CopyMark translates the status into plain English—for example, whether an Office Action response, Statement of Use, or renewal filing is due.
  4. Note the examining attorney and dates. Filing date, status date, registration date (if registered), and examining attorney name are listed on the record page.
  5. Check the response deadline. When a response deadline exists in the USPTO record (such as for an Office Action), it is displayed on the page.
