Status codes explained
USPTO status codes (such as 641 for published, 700 for registered, or 626 for abandoned) appear on every serial page. CopyMark links each code to its plain-English guide. See the full status code catalog at /guidance/trademark-status-codes.
Why deadlines matter
Trademark prosecution has strict deadlines. Office Action responses, Statements of Use after a Notice of Allowance, and Section 8/9 maintenance filings must be timely. The serial page highlights applicable deadlines when they appear in the indexed record.
Step-by-step
- Open the live serial page. Navigate to https://getcopymark.com/trademark/{serialNumber} with your 8-digit serial number.
- Read the status badge. The current USPTO status code and label appear near the mark name. Click the status link for a plain-English explanation of that code.
- Review What this means. CopyMark translates the status into plain English—for example, whether an Office Action response, Statement of Use, or renewal filing is due.
- Note the examining attorney and dates. Filing date, status date, registration date (if registered), and examining attorney name are listed on the record page.
- Check the response deadline. When a response deadline exists in the USPTO record (such as for an Office Action), it is displayed on the page.
