009What the product is DockHub is an electronic motor-control system for operating compatible AC boat-lift motors. The current architecture consists of a cloud-connected Gateway and a Lift Controller. The Gateway receives commands from the associated user interface and relays them to the Lift Controller, which interprets the commands and controls the electrical switching that starts the configured motor or motors in the selected direction. How it regulates motor start-up The user submits an UP, DOWN, or STOP command through the associated user interface, or uses the physical UP, DOWN, and STOP controls at the Lift Controller. A command from the user interface travels through DockHub Cloud to the Wi-Fi-connected Gateway, which relays it over the Gateway-to-Lift-Controller radio link. Physical-button control remains local to the Lift Controller. The Lift Controller resolves the requested whole-lift or selected-channel action against its configured motor inventory. Whole-lift motion is accepted only if every targeted channel passes the same validation; otherwise none of the targeted channels starts. STOP is always allowed and stops every channel. For a cloud-issued UP or DOWN command, the Lift Controller first validates and prepares the requested motion. It energizes the outputs only after the matching go-ahead is received. If that staged exchange is not completed, the motor does not start. Before energizing an output, the Lift Controller checks local hardware-fault and limit conditions and prevents opposite directional outputs from being energized at the same time. If motion is allowed, the Lift Controller drives the applicable relay-control outputs. A STOP command de-energizes the motion outputs. Reversing direction requires the motor to stop and a three-second direction-change delay to expire before motion can start in the opposite direction. While the lift is moving, the Lift Controller enforces the physical upper and lower limit switches and monitors hardware-fault and load-sense inputs. A qualifying fault or abnormal load condition stops motion across the lift so that one side does not continue moving alone, and the condition is reported. A hardware-fault input also blocks new motion until it clears. Loss of the Gateway-to-Lift-Controller radio link prevents an uncompleted cloud motion command from starting. Once motion has begun, ordinary radio-link loss is reported but does not by itself stop the lift; the Lift Controller continues to enforce its local limits and fault protections. The product regulates motor start-up by deciding whether and when the switching outputs may be energized, selecting the direction and target motors, requiring confirmation before cloud-requested motion, preventing conflicting directional outputs, enforcing a three-second reversal delay, and applying local limit and fault protections. It does not continuously vary the motor's speed. Main features Control of compatible three-wire AC boat-lift motors. On-demand reporting of current motor motion and health by the configured channels. An outdoor installation configuration using an appropriately rated enclosure and installation by a qualified electrician. Expected customers and sales channels Expected purchasers and users include boat-lift owners and operators, marina operators, waterfront property managers, electricians, marine contractors, boat-lift installers, dock builders, dealers, and service technicians.
